Questions

  • Do I need a Life Coach?

Anyone who wants a happier and more fulfilling life will benefit from visiting a Life Coach. A Life Coach can motivate you to be better and achieve more. You need a Life Coach if

•    fear and confusion are blocking your judgement

•    you are anxious about life changing decisions

•    you feel dissatisfied and stuck in negative life patterns

•    you want to achieve your maximum potential

  • What is the difference between Life Coaching and Counselling?

Counsellors work with people experiencing problematic behaviour or thoughts that stem from childhood dynamics and parental relationships. They attempt to diagnose present health conditions or manage difficult life circumstances by looking at the past. The effort is towards healing from past traumas and finding closure.

Coaching, on the other hand, is future focused and helps people to set goals and achieve them. Life coaches work with people who are not necessarily suffering from any type of mental health condition, but who desires to see an improvement in their life circumstance and overall quality of life.

I will ask you questions, develop an action plan and motivate you to create the future of your choice. As your Life coach, I will help you align your life goals with your strengths and your passions.

  • Where does a Coaching session take place?

My aim is to conduct sessions in an environment that is safe and relaxing for you. You can chat with me via phone, Skype, or any other online platform that works for you from the comfort of your own home.

  • What can I expect from a Coaching session?

You can expect to be heard, encouraged and inspired. I will use specialized coaching techniques to help you solve problems, find answers and start making positive changes at your own pace. Some of the tools I use include Client Centred Approach, Solution Focused Therapy and Cognitive Behaviour Therapy.

  • What does Client Centred Approach mean?

Using the Client Centred Approach, I will be keeping you in the centre of my coaching approach. This means that I have full confidence in your ability to solve your own problems. I will use active listening, empathy and my coaching experience to draw out your unique strengths. I will empower you to use your strengths not only to overcome existing challenges but also to achieve more.

  • What is Solution Focused Therapy?

Solution Focused Therapy is a goal directed and collaborative approach to problem solving. My job as your coach is to ask you precise and specific questions that will give you better insight into your current situation. We will then work together on setting achievable goals that you can begin implementing immediately!

  • What is Cognitive Behaviour Therapy?

Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) is used for changing unhealthy thoughts, feelings and behaviour. As your Life Coach, I will work with you to identify negative life patterns that are preventing you realizing your true potential.
I will use CBT to design customized self-help strategies that will affect positive and immediate changes in your life!

  • How many sessions do I need?

Every client and every situation is different. Depending on your requirements you may choose the number of sessions needed to make a change happen.
In my experience, people are enthusiastic about coaching at the beginning but tend to fall back into old patterns within a month. That is why I recommend 3-6 sessions for transformation to take place.

A couple of extra sessions with me won’t add much to your cost but will make sure you really push through to turn your life around!  Initially, I would like to work with you on a weekly basis and then follow through on a fortnightly or monthly basis. Long-term commitment and consistent follow up will help you maximize the benefits and move forwards even if you hit a plateau.

  • Do I need a referral to sign up?

No. You can contact me directly through my website and book a free mini session to see if Life Coaching is right for you.

  • Can I get a rebate?

Unfortunately, Life Coaching is not covered by the Medicare rebate or by regular private health insurance plans. However, it is worth checking with your Insurer in case they have more comprehensive coverage available.

  • What forms of payment do you accept?

Currently, I accept payment via online bank transfers or cash.

  • What if I need to cancel my appointment?

I expect minimum 24 hours notice before cancelling a session. Sessions cancelled for the same day will be charged. I recommend rescheduling (for the same day) or attending a partial session instead of cancelling outright. If I am unable to reschedule your appointment within the same day, you will be invoiced.

I will always respect your time and commitment to Life Coaching and will expect the same from you. If I cancel an appointment with you within a 24-hour period, you will receive one complementary session from me.
